Introduction to Mokuhanga Weekend Intensive

Limited to 6 participants
Learn the basics of the beautiful and subtle art form of mokuhanga or Japanese wood block printing.
In this intensive we will go through the basics of planning a design, carving blocks, applying and mixing colors, achieving different textures and effects, proofing and printing. Tools will be provided. Material fee applies for woodblocks, paper and transfer materials. Please bring lunch and extra tube watercolors or gouache paints that you have on hand that are not precious. Preparatory homework will be assigned in advance.
